We Thrive In Engineering The Future

We Invest In technology because we see it as a necessity to make sure our cities are prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead.

Scientia Holdings’ investment thesis aims to focus on acquiring or investing in technology and software firms that demonstrate strong recurring revenue models, vigorous intellectual property, and potential for market leadership. We are particularly drawn to companies operating in high-demand areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, enterprise software, and artificial intelligence.

These subsectors align with long-term trends, including digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and automation. In Southern Africa, we target tech hubs such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Pretoria, where vibrant ecosystems of reorganization and talent are growing larger. Internationally, we prioritize markets in North America, Western Europe, and Southeast Asia, which serve as global leaders in technology adoption and investment.

Scientia seeks technology and software companies with annual revenues ranging from R200 million to R2 billion, EBITDA margins above 25%, and a high proportion of recurring or subscription-based income. Businesses with scalable software-as-a-service (SaaS) models, enterprise-level clients, and strong user retention metrics are prioritized.

Scientia also targets firms with proven products that address critical pain points in industries such as healthcare, finance, logistics, and education. ESG alignment is a key consideration, as we favor companies that demonstrate a commitment to data privacy, ethical AI usage, and equitable digital access.

Our strategy emphasizes partnering with management teams that have a clear vision for market expansion, product development, and operational efficiency. Scientia’s post-acquisition aims to focus on scaling operations, driving adoption of existing technologies, and moving towards exploring strategic partnerships to enter new markets.
